About VYLMedia

VYLMedia is an Oklahoma based provider of nationwide VoIP (voice over Internet protocol) phone services. VYL has a domestic customer support staff and deems customer service of utmost importance. VYL ranks highly on various review sites and wanted to capitalize on its significant customer goodwill.

Objectives

The objectives were simple.

  • To collect dozens of testimonials or “props” (props is slang for proper recognition)
  • To promote dozens of testimonials to the VYLMedia web site and social media accounts including twitter. This provides social proof to any prospective customers that they are a company with high customer satisfaction.
  • To improve search engine rankings and positive web pages about VYLMedia that show in the search engines.

Actions

VYL first installed the Propadoo feed onto their web site at http://www.vylmedia.com/props.php or http://www.vylmedia.com/testimonials.php. Then when they emailed the monthly bill to their customers they included an offer to win an iPod Touch. The subject line read, “VYLmedia January Statement – Win and iPod Touch!” and included the paragraph below at the top of the bill.

Results

VYL received 25 “props” or testimonials within 48 hours and a total of 37 within 7 days. They also received 2 leads. (The Propadoo platform asks every customer for a referral right after they give a testimonial.) From an SEO perspective, VYL received over 5000 words of user generated content packed full of their most important keywords and this content links back to the VYL web site. Furthermore VYL tweeted their very best props to their twitter account which caused these “props” or testimonials to get picked up all over the Internet. The Internet was essentially flooded with positive content about VYL.

The conversion rates for people visiting the testimonial was 309% greater than the people not going to the testimonials page.  See below.
